Digital Goa, July 17 – The Directorate of Fisheries, Goa, has issued a notification modifying eligibility conditions under its scheme for financial assistance to purchase or construct new fishing craft (less than 26 feet) for inland waters. As per the revised rules, beneficiaries must possess either an OBC Kharvi certificate, a profession certificate from the Mamlatdar, municipal chief officer, or village panchayat secretary, or hold a registered fishing net licence with the Directorate. Additionally, a new clause mandates that applicants must submit their application within six months of registering their fishing canoe with the Captain of Ports Department.
