Digital Goa, July 21 – CM Pramod Sawant told the Assembly that affordable homes will be built at Pernem through the Goa Housing Board(GHB). When MLAs criticised the current GHB auction process for plots and flats alleging out that it favours the rich and is out of reach of common Goan, Sawant pointed out that 30-year domicile rule is mandatory to ensure only original Goans benefit. CM further informed that 240 houses have been completed under PMAY, and that a resurvey has been requested to expand eligibility as very few Goans were eligible under the scheme as per 2011 survey.
Opposition accused the government of inconsistencies between replies in the House and the Economic Survey on affordable housing, alleging a lack of accountability towards figures stated in the govt documents.
