Digital Goa, August 20 – Goa government has made it mandatory for all bull owners to microchip and register their animals within one month. A notice issued by the Directorate of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services warns that bulls without registration or microchipping will be confiscated and sent to gaushalas, while owners will face a fine of ₹50,000. The department has also instructed police inspectors to ensure strict compliance. The move is aimed at curbing illegal bullfights (dhirios). The Directorate has clarified that non-registration will be treated as a deliberate attempt to participate in illegal bullfights.
