Digital Goa, Dec 10 – Following a recent fatal fire incident at Arpora, the Inspectorate of Factories and Boilers has issued a fresh set of fire-safety guidelines for all factories. The circular directs units to keep fire-detection and firefighting systems fully functional, prepare On-Site Emergency Plans, train workers and firefighting teams, maintain clear access routes, ensure lightning protection for hazardous units, use flameproof electrical equipment, conduct periodic inspections, and provide adequate illuminated fire exits etc. Factories have also been asked to conduct quarterly fire drills and maintain a valid Fire NOC.
