Digital Goa, July 17 – Govt has constituted a committee of legal and administrative experts to recommend policy interventions for the sustainable management of land resources and address issues related to unauthorized residential constructions on non-government land.
The 10-member panel will be chaired by Senior Advocate Ramchandra Ramani, with experts including Adv. Aires Pinto Furtado, known for his expertise in Portuguese laws, and officials from key departments like Panchayats, Revenue, Settlement and Land Records, and Archives. Gurudas Desai, Additional Collector-I (North), will serve as the Member Secretary. The committee has been tasked with examining irregular land use, suggesting regularisation measures where legally and publicly feasible, studying long-standing dwellings without ownership rights, and recommending legislative or procedural reforms. It has been given a three-month tenure to submit its findings and suggestions.
