Digital Goa, July 21 – Goa government may consider introducing an anti-conversion law, informed CM Pramod Sawant on the floor of the house. He referred to the recent arrest of Ayesha alias S B Krishna from Goa by UP Police, along with 9 others, in connection with an alleged forced religious conversion racket. Sawant clarified that Ayesha’s education was entirely outside Goa and she only visited the state during holidays, though her parents were residents here. Sawant also highlighted targeted conversions, ‘love jihad’ and sleeper cell concerns. He emphasized the need for cooperation from local bodies, including panchayats, in monitoring such activities. “Many states have enacted anti-conversion laws. Goa may also have to consider similar legislation,” he said.
