Digital Goa, Dec 10 – Goa Police have been directed to return 31 laptops donated earlier this year by Vaibhav Thakar, who was arrested by Maharashtra Police on December 7 for allegedly cheating a Zaveri Bazaar jeweller of ₹2.8 crore. Thakar had posed as an officer from the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Office to carry out the alleged fraud. Thakar had previously gained attention in Goa after meeting Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in April 2025 and donating the laptops to the Goa Police, presenting them as part of a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.
