Digital Goa, July 15 – Goa Police Cyber Cell has issued a total of 672 blocking notices under Information Technology Act to intermediaries and internet service providers over the last nine months since October 2024. The crackdown targets online platforms and profiles involved in gambling, prostitution, fake hotel/resort websites, and other cyber frauds. The action spans websites, social media accounts, YouTube channels, Telegram groups, and WhatsApp numbers, with a peak of 270 blocks in May 2025 alone. Additionally, 936 mobile numbers and 134 IMEI numbers used for defrauding unsuspecting victims through scam calls and impersonation have been blocked till date.
