Digital Goa, June 27 – Kolkata resident Shyam Sunder Dey was abducted and extorted of Rs 23 lakh between May 31 and June 4 while in Goa as per a complaint filed at the Calangute police station. The accused are identified as Kunal Verma, Puja Bannerjee alias Puja Bose, Piyush Kothari, and others. Kunal and Verma are said to be TV actors. Calangute Police have registered an offence based on a Zero FIR forwarded by Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate, West Bengal in this regard. As per the complaint filed by the victim’s wife, Malabika Dey, when Shyam Sunder and his assistant were travelling in a rented car within the Calangute jurisdiction, the accused persons allegedly formed a criminal conspiracy, restrained them, and forcibly abducted Shyam Sunder. The complaint states that Dey was assaulted, threatened with false narcotics charges, and moved between undisclosed locations, during which the accused extorted Rs 23 lakh from him.
