Digital Goa, June 29 – Old Goa Police have arrested Suman Ghughu from Kolkata in a cyber fraud case where a 71-year-old retired man from St. Cruz was duped of ₹3.13 lakh. The victim was lured through a WhatsApp video call on May 30 by a caller posing as a Bank of Baroda official offering a ‘free shopping deal on the credit card for retired employees.’ The caller induced the victim to share his CVV and OTP, leading to the unauthorized transaction. After technical investigation, Ghughu was traced to Kolkata and arrested on June 27 with assistance from local police. He will be produced before JMFC Merces on June 30. Further investigation is underway.
