Digital Goa, June 26 – NSUI Goa gheraoed Education Director Shailesh Zingde, opposing the directives issued to observe June 25 as “Samvidhan Hatya Diwas” in schools and other educational institutions in the state. They alleged that it was the BJP’s attempt to expose students—who are not legal voters—to party propaganda and demanded its withdrawal. Zingde, on his part, asserted that the initiative aims to raise constitutional awareness and is in accordance with the Union Ministry of Education’s directive. The year-long campaign, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the imposition of the Emergency (1975–77), began on June 25, 2025, and will conclude on June 25, 2026.
