Digital Goa, July 17 – Mopa Airport Police have arrested a suspended IRBn constable, Nikesh Chari (34) from Korgao, for snatching a gold mangalsutra worth Rs 1.8 lakh from a woman at Torxem, Pernem. The incident occurred this morning when the accused, riding a scooter, fled after pulling the chain from the neck of the 55-year-old victim lady. The vehicle was later found abandoned near Tamboxem jungle. A joint combing operation by Mopa and Pernem police led to Chari’s arrest and recovery of the stolen jewellery. SP North has recommended his termination from service.
